Welcome to the official portal of the Communication Studies Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). To make it easier, we can mention the name of this study program briefly with Communication Science of UMM.

The Communication Science of UMM was established in 1986. Along with the development of science and technology, this study program continues to move forward so that it gets various recognitions both at the national and international levels.

Since 2021, The Communication Science of UMM has officially received a quality assurance certificate from the Asean University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA). This achievement follows the defense of the A title from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN PT) three times in a row since 2009 until now. From the private sector, The Communication Science of UMM was also categorized as Indonesia Best Schools of Communications and Management version of Mix Magazine from 2013 to 2015.

Based on the vision that was built since its inception, The Communication Science of UMM has a specificity in developing knowledge and skills in the field of communication based on Islamic values. Two major fields that make up the profile of graduates are communication practitioners and researchers. In both fields, Islamic values ​​are instilled as basic values. The core values ​​adopted by The Communication Science of UMM include upholding truth (al-haq), integrity (amanah), hard work ethic, invitation to goodness (da'wah bi al-mauidhoh hasanah), piety, and protecting and encompassing others (rahmatan lil alamin).

The learning and working climate in The Communication Science of UMM has a spirit which is summarized into 3 C's, namely creative, communicative and collaborative. The creativity of lecturers and students is built continuously by making the laboratory a kitchen of creativity and innovation. A communicative way of working is an unavoidable necessity to achieve optimal service. Meanwhile, the collaborative spirit is fostered to strengthen productivity and broaden the spectrum of association and cooperation.

Entering the era of Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0, The Communication Science of UMM had no choice but to make quick adaptations, if necessary exponentially. For this reason, the seriousness of the management of the Study Program must be accompanied by the spirit of running fast together with the entire academic community. Although running, a fun atmosphere also needs to be maintained together. Like the character of the current millennial generation, the way we work is like adopting those who are idealistic, open minded, technology friendly, love change, but also work-life balance.

We are happy to welcome a new generation of The Communication Science of UMM who have pride in their almamater and are admirable for everyone. Let's learn and move forward together.
