There is information that the campus' classification consists of State University (PTN), Private University (PTS), and Muhammadiyah University (PTM). PTM is considered as the new power of university due of its strength organization. This teasing and also challenge made PTM must empower themselves in competing with other PTN.
PTM that held Communication Science Education (PIK) on 27th - 29th of December last year conducted seminar and workshop in order to strengthen this network. Taken place in UMM Inn, UMM Communication Science Department which was appointed as the organizer presented Prof. Dr. Hafied Changara, M.Sc (BAN PT Assessors) to explain accreditation policy of PT. The event was attended by 27 participants from all 13 PTM in Indonesia.
The purpose of this event is to strengthen the network between PTM as PIK organizers and to empower it together. "In strengthening this network, we need to declare the container and the activities that will be approved on it. Then, 13 PTM agreed to sign the declaration that will continue to be disseminated to the PTM who were absent,"said by Nurudin as the Head of Communication Science Department in UMM.
As for the conclusion, the 13 PTM agreed in the establishment of Muhammadiyah University Communication Science Education Association (APIK-PTM) in Indonesia. In the declaration that was read by Nurudin, it was declared that all PTK PTM organizers agreed in: (1) Forming Association of Communication Science Education in Muhammadiyah University all over Indonesia, (2) Establishing the cooperation in the Catur Dharma implementation, (3) Managing journal and scientific publications in a one management, and (4) Developing and improving the creativity and also professionalism in the communication field.
Fajar Junaedi, one of the participants from UMY welcomed the event which was the follow up from the meeting in Yogyakarta last June. "The main thing is, I really support this event. We can't lose from other universities and also other associations. Our Muhammadiyah is strong as network, we just need our commitment on it. We are also strong emotionally, aren't we?" he added.
The declarators who represented each PTM included; Nurudin, M.Si (University of Muhammadiyah Malang), Agus Triyono, M.Si (University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta), Zuhdan Azis, S.IP, S.Sn, M.Sn (University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta), Alifah Ardiani, S.Pd, M.Med.Kom (STISIP Muhammadiyah Madiun), Ayub Dwi Anggoro, M.Si (Universityof Muhammadiyah Ponorogo), Sa’diyah El Adawiyah, S.Sos, M.Si (University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta), Drs. Hery B. Cahyono, M.Si, (University of Muhammadiyah Jember), Falimu, S.Sos, M.I.Kom (University of Muhammadiyah Luwuk Banggai), Helmi Alhadar, S.Sos, M.Si, (University of Muhammadiyah North Maluku), Yopy Perdana Kusuma, S.Sos (University of Muhammadiyah Tangerang), Said Romadhan, S.Sos, M.Si (University of Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka), Didik Hariyanto, M.Si (University of Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo), Abrar Adhani, M.I.Kom (University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatera).
The event was also completed with experience sharing from UMM Communication Science Dept (which was represented by Nurudin, M.Si) and UMY (by Zuhdan Azis, S.IP, S.Sn, M.Sn) related to the accreditation experience.UMM and UMY are the PIK PTM members who are accredited as 'A'.
